Tim Hardaway Jersey Retirement - October 28th, 2009

Former SMG Client and good friend NBA Superstar Tim Hardaway's #10 Miami Heat Jersey Retirement on October 28, 2009 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL USA. SMG president Mr Barry Mezey new to the sports marketing business in 2008 met Tim Hardaway at Bice Cafe in the Falls shopping center in Miami Florida. Barry was doing a good deed by treating a less fortunate person to a meal out of charity at that time and struck up a conversation with Tim Hardaway as Tim walked by Barry's table on his way back from the restroom. Barry made an everlasting impression on Tim and two weeks later Tim Hardaway signed with SMG as Barry's core client and #1 prospect. Barry took a large risk and a big challenge in January 2008 by taking on the task of representing Mr. Hardaway and helping change Tim Hardaway's post career fortunes, image, and ideals around after many in the media stated that Tim Hardaway had committed post career suicide by making some very negative comments in the media about being a homophobe towards a fellow NBA player who admitted he was gay. Barry is proud to be Tim's good friend, former marketing agent, and to be the concept co-founder of the Tim Hardaway Foundation in which, the Mezey family paid for the paperwork for the 501c3 charitable foundation to be incorporated in spring 2008. Barry is very proud of Tim Hardaway, appreciates Tim's generosity and friendship to his family and to help special needs children at the Alper JCC. Barry is very grateful to Tim Hardaway everyday for helping Barry make a name for himself in the sports marketing business by allowing a once young special needs child with a passion for basketball and sports with a dream to simply live that dream in reality by being good friends with his childhood sports hero and having an everlasting friendship with Tim Hardaway.
